Effective Propositions Marketing Music Online: Products, Services, Offers

by Matt @ Kurb on December 9, 2009

Okay so recently we talked about the value of the proposition in music marketing

And then last post was about more practical steps - get the proposition out there in a real way when marketing music online, write on your blog everyday, put it in front of peoples faces - go with article marketing for google ranking and reposting to your social media with the links still live. make a sincere or compelling video, have a great sales page and run an online advertising campaign directed toward it.

Don’t forget if you need set up and blog promotion, article marketing and SEO for musicians, online video production services and online advertising campaigns you can get that all set up with me with just your first $600 / 3 month music makreting campaign

Okay, so this is all becasue mid term, I’m scaling back my music marketing consultation to focus on an information product so I’m going to be even more like a real musician in the fact that I use the internet to sell content and not services.

Don’t get me wrong - services are sweet! When you provide services you can charge decent money - yesterday I used performing a wedding or similar as an example - not easy or ideal work, but good money. If you can find a high value service you can offer as your proposition for which there’s a market you can at least begin scratching a few dollars together to take the next step.

But you and I both know why selling content is so good in the long run - because you can sell the same thing to many different people with very little effort. And you can keep adding to your “catalogue” - the more you make, the more you sell.

But we know the modern reality is that no one wants to buy your songs so you’re going to have to sweeten the deal. Rev it up. Do something different.

I’ll tell you about what I’m thinking of doing that’s different, and we’ll still be talking about pushing these kinds of propositions and offers with fans. Again we’ll have to talk more about what kinds of propositions are going to be sweet because:

- the product is easy for you to recreate and deliver

- the product is designed to make fans want more and other stuff

- all your marketing is streamlined behind the the offer
