We can talk as much as you like but you need to put down $500 and give us 3 months so we can help you. For that money you get at least 30 hours from us guaranteed!

Okay this is still coninuing on from my last music marketing post which I was projecting plans from one of my entertainment businesses to illustrate the kind of deals new band managers and artist managers can negotiate when performing music marketing services for an artist - and also what kind of stuff you’re going to have to pull off to get your entertainers generating serious business performance online.

So much like the online music marketing and music business clients I deal with there will come a point, probably after 6 months or so - where there is enough traffic for me to deploy advertisements and more importantly our affiliate marketing deals. Once that’s set up at a basic point, I will specifically go looking for more products that fit with the pirate birthday party brand, and developing parts of the site to facilitate their sale.

At this stage I will have already started developing a lot of content, interaction etc., a newsletter of course, and worked on expanding the range of services being offered, not just appearances and extras and add ons to that, butdigital services that can be performed online.

I’d take my experience in music marketing services and move quickly to offer a digital content product alongside the services available. What’s a digital content product?

Well it’s all the songs, words, pictures and videos you can cram into a zip file and charge money for! If you don’t want to sell anything good, that’s fine you just won’t have any customers, but if you pack everything you can into one package and charge very little for it, you’ve got something I bet at least someone will buy, and you have a weapon - for reasons I outlined:

- extra sales through cheap digital product

- qualifying purchasing customers

- setting up opportunites for sales of further services and products

Have next to nothing to go in you digital content product?

Then you better sell it real cheap then, hadn’t you, and get working on something half decent to stick in there so people don’t feel ripped off next time you go to sell them something because now you already know who’s willing to spend.

From the point of a successful digital content product, you can expand the quality of the video and overall content in general. When you’ve got a successful product behind you, you can afford to develop your next product more thoroughly, and charge more.

In the case of our little children’s entertainment business, we’ll be wanting to move to a full video content product with lots of extras, but also plenty of video to put the kids in front of for half an hour.

That’s something we can sell as wel as use to push sign ups to an email list.

Finally, when we’ve got to the standard of very high video production, perhaps even commissioning an animated series to be made overseas by talented freelance animators, then we have a product we can license.

So . . .

2 or 3 years down the track from now, we can have a host of material we license out to media agencies all over the world and we could have sponsorship deals to promote any number of children’s products in videos that may or may not be core to the content we produce regularly.

As well as endorsement we can also offer creation of customised video and content for paying customers.

On top of that, my partner will then be commanding record figures for apearances, of which 20% after $200 is mine, by this stage I believe his performance would have developed beyond backyards to strictly stage performances that could be performed for large groups of 30+ kids at a time and admissions staged for a travelling show.

So then, with the increased profile and traffic coming through the blog, I should expect a far larger number of affiliate sales coming through the blog for everything from pirate party supplies, to customized offers through the blog that are strictly limited, plus a well trodden shopfront where you could order any pirate related material you could dream of - obviously lots of room for affiliate partnerships with amazon, ebay and websites like ali baba.

Of course at that stage with the brand really big, then you can launch your own personalized merchandise based on what you know will sell from your experience running all kind of affiliate offers through the site.

So yes hopefully with a sponshorship deal, licensing deals, higher performance fees, greater affiliate sales and higher advertising rates, I’d have plenty of opportunites to make the kind of money I’d expect for my work, and if you’re an artist manager or artist looking to build a stronger online business plan - here’s plenty of ideas to get you started whether you dress up as a pirate and chase kids arounf their backyards on their birthdays or not.
